Objectives of the Association
 |
to promote and maintain
the professional standards of property standards officers; |
 |
to provide formal
training and continuing education to its members; |
 |
to hold conferences and
meetings for the discussion of municipal affairs and matters of professional
interest to its membership and for the presentation of papers and lectures;
|
 |
to issue copies of
papers, lectures and other material to its members and to collect and
publish information of interest to its members; |
 |
to advise its members of
developments in the laws and practices related to their municipal duties.

Present Corporate Structure
The affairs of the Association are managed by a volunteer Board of Directors
composed of twelve (12), individuals elected by the membership in accordance
with the By-Laws, plus the Immediate Past President, in each year, who may also
serve as a Director.
The Officers of the Association are elected by the Board from amongst their
numbers and include a President, Vice-President and a General Secretary. A
Registrar is appointed by the Board to maintain a register of the names of all
members including the category of membership and their designation.
The Board may also appoint individuals, who need not be Directors, as
Administrative personnel to assist with the general business operations of the
Association. Eight (8) Committees have been established, by By-Law, to assist
the Board in carrying out the affairs of the Association.
OAPSO maintains membership in the Association of Ontario Municipalities, (A.M.O.).
